Gamla Stan is the old town of Stockholm and therefore it is one of the foremost tourist attractions. It covers an island in the middle of the city – the original name meant ‘the town between the bridges’. The area is charming and fascinating despite its many kitch tourists shops. Our day spent here was one of the highlights of our journey.
