Architecture in Helsinki

The appropriate soundtrack for this post is Architecture in Helsinki. (I had their 2008 hit ‘Tiny Paintings’ in my head while I was there).

The buildings are strange in the way that their designs are similar to pre-World War One buildings in central Europe, but different in their detail. Here are some of my favourites.

Helsinki Cathedral

The inside of the ‘Rock Church’. The building is carved out of a rock on a small hill. The roof consists of a copper dome.
